The Life of a Working Girl - Sloan
Tabbed by Adam Bishop
Hopefully this will make sense. Because of the way Chris is singing,
it's pretty hard to
figure out which pattern lines up with what, especially at the end. All
the parts are here,
so you should be able to figure it out. Each figure is basically the
same, but with a
different ending each time (and Figs. 3a and 3b are almost identical
except for one
little bit).

(Fig. 1 x2)
(Fig. 1 x2)
All the resumes were splendid
But she's the one they recommended
For the job but starting late in life
Means she can't celebrate
(Fig. 1)
She hasn't time or energy
To spend on friends and family
(Fig. 2)
She's got some catching up to do
And precious hours are few
(Fig. 1 x2)
Oh the life of a working girl
I used to see her all the time
(Fig. 1 x2)
She's young at heart but no teenager
Early thirties I would wager
I came along a little later
So I could merely carbon date her
(Fig. 1)
Age she's not keen to
It's a trap, I a door
(Fig. 3a)
In the stage she can go through
Until the encore
(Fig. 3b)
(Fig. 1)
(Fig. 1 x2)
Now she's the one who gives belated
Birthday wishes devastated
She forgot it on the day
But this is not a job that pays her
(Fig. 1)
By the hour so she'll be set
Before the sun so she forgets
(Fig. 2)
These things like light upon her face
Who'll spring her from this place
(Fig. 1)
Oh the life of a working girl
(Fig. 1, then Fig. 2)
I used to see her all the time
(Fig. 1 x2)
Oh the life of a working girl
I used to see her all the time
(Fig. 1 x2)
Now someone's had a few successes
Who I'll give you 20 guesses
Take some credit just admit it
Everybody knows you did it
(Fig. 1)
It's not that I'm not happy for her
But it's not easy to adore her
(Fig. 3, then Fig. 1)
From afar does she get lonely
Like I do if I could only see her all the time
(Fig. 1, then Fig. 2)
I used to see her all the time
(Fig. 1, then Fig. 3)
Oh the life of a working girl
I used to see her all the time
Oh the life of a working girl
I used to see her all the time
